Glossop Golf Club Wedding Photography and Zion Congregational Church (Gee Cross) Wedding Pictures – Amy & Des’s ‘first day of summer’ wedding.
I have just got home from a very long but fabulous day shooting Amy and Des’s gorgeous wedding. We’ve had weeks and weeks of rain and drizzle, but today definitely felt like the start of Summer! The day started with me meeting Amy and her bridesmaids in Legends Hair & Beauty (next to Asda) where they were having hair & make-up done. I got some documentary style shots and a couple of informal groups of Amy with the girls. After this we all headed back to Amy’s parents house which was full of family and friends. I seen Amy’s gorgeous flowers and asked her who her florist was… she told me that she’s got the flowers from a wholesaler and yesterday the bridesmaids and her Mum spent all day making the gorgeous bouquets and button holes. I was blown away! They done an amazing job! Once the girls had laced Amy in to her stunning dress, I headed off to Zion Congregational Church where the ceremony was being held. I started shooting the guys and I was looking at them thinking ‘something is not right!’ They’d put the button holes in the suit pockets! Honestly guys!!
So, luckily I had spare flower pins in my camera bag and after fixing them all, I managed to get shots of them all before Amy arrived. After a few wedding pictures of Amy’s arrival outside Zion Congregational Church, the ceremony commenced. I was able to get a few discreet shots during the ceremony of both the couple and their guests, so big thank you to Zion Congregational Church!
After the Ceremony, the guests had arranged a Zimbabwean tradition where silks are laid down in the path of the couple as they leave the Church, so that they are not walking on the ground. There was lots of singing and dancing, and confetti throwing. It was a real party atmosphere, and it almost seemed a shame to leave for Howard’s Park, where the couple were having some portraits before heading to Glossop Golf Club for food, partying and Glossop Golf Club Wedding Photography. It was a great send of and I got lots of documentary style wedding pictures of this tradition.
If you’re having a wedding in the Glossop or Hyde area, Howard Park is a gorgeous location for pictures. Use the postcode forĀ Glossop Pool and park in the shared carpark.

After the portraits, the couple headed to their reception venue: Glossop Golf Club. For your Glossop Golf Club Wedding Photography, you have a fantastic backdrop for groups pictures and wedding portraits, and the advantage of a tarmac area in fron of the amazing scenery is that anyone wearing heals will not have to worry about wrecking their shoes. The interior is also good for Glossop Golf Club Wedding Photography as there’s loads of natural light flooding in to the function room, which is always a bonus! I stayed to shoot documentary style wedding pictures of speeches and first dance and got loads of group shots. It was great to spend the day with Amy and Des and their family and friends, they were so much fun to work with and I can’t wait to show them the pictures!![]()
