Jessica & Matt’s Formby Hall Wedding Photography
I had been eagerly looking forward to Jessica and Matt’s Formby Hall Wedding Photography as I hadn’t worked there before and new venues are always exciting!
Unlike many golfing venues, due to the layout wedding photography group shots on the green are allowed (in certain parts) so it’s possible to have the venue or the scenic golf course in the background. It’s this flexibility that means you have more options for your Formby Hall wedding photography.
A few weeks before the wedding, I met the couple at Formby Hall to have their rehearsal photo shoot and discuss their wedding photography and all the details of the day. We had a good look around and planned locations for pictures together. The interior of the venue was modern and contemporary and would go with any key colour. There was plenty of space inside, so if it rained groups shots could be done in a variety of locations making Formby Hall Wedding Photography great, regardless of the weather! The Bride and Groom wanted to get Formby Hall in as many of their wedding pictures as possible, so you can see below the bridal party pictures were shot on the golf course with the venue as a backdrop to their wedding photographs.
Bride Jessica was 30 min late getting to the Church, but luckily they didn’t have another ceremony on that day so there was still time for some quick photos of her fashionably late arrival!
After the ceremony, we done a confetti shot and large group shot of everyone (and each family) and then the guests went on to Formby Hall which was the reception venue, whilst I shot a few portraits of the newlyweds outside the Church.
When Jessica & Matt initially got in touch to speak to me about their wedding photography pland for their big day, they specifically asked for this first picture with the wedding car in front of Formby Hall and wedding guests on the balcony, as this was a shot they wanted in their wedding album. After we shot this picture, the majority of guests chilled out in the bar and on the terrace whilst the bridal party and I went to our agreed location for bridal party pictures.
After the wedding breakfast, the light had dropped quite a bit so we went back outside for a few portraits before the couple had their first dance.
A big thank you to Jess and Matt for booking me! It was a pleasure to spend their big day with them and I very much look forward to shooting at this venue again and adding more Formby Hall wedding photography to my portfolio.
